Guarantee of Quality
Arbroath Fisheries guarantees that all products supplied to customers are of the highest quality. On occasion we may need to substitute a product but this will be of the same or better quality of the original order.
Payment Options
Arbroath Fisheries accepts all major credit and debit cards (no minimum) and uses a secure payment system, Payzone.
Returns Procedure
Arbroath Fisheries makes every effort to ensure our products arrive in perfect condition. Due to the perishable nature of the products, Arbroath Fisheries does not accept returned goods. Please see the Refund section below.
Refund
Refunds for products are at the discretion of Arbroath Fisheries unless the goods are found to be faulty in which case the goods should be returned and either a replacement will be issued or a full refund will be given. Refunds will be paid by the same method as the order was.
Delivery Methods & Times
Arbroath Fisheries deliveries are made by courier within the UK mainland. Our despatch days are Tuesday and Thursday. Orders for despatch Tuesday must be received by 4pm on Monday and for despatch on Thursday by 4pm on Wednesday. Delivery is normally made within 24 hours but can take up to 48 hours. We are unable to offer a guaranteed delivery date but will do our best to accommodate any requests. Unless otherwise stated all of our orders are being delivered using our overnight courier service excluding those to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Wight and Isle of Man which will be made by Royal Mail Standard Parcel Service (3-5 days).
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they are available to take delivery of the goods at the appropriate time or to make alternative arrangements. Arbroath Fisheries Ltd cannot accept responsibility for goods which are left in places instructed by the customer. Goods which cannot be delivered will be taken back to the courier depot and a card will be left asking the customer to contact them to arrange a suitable time for the delivery to be made.
Deliveries may be delayed due to circumstances out with the control of Arbroath Fisheries such as Bank Holidays, fish shortages and adverse weather conditions; where possible details of these will be posted on the website or we will endeavour to advise by email.
Packaging and Shelf Life and Storage
All our products are vacuum packed and smoked fish has a shelf life of 10 days from the date of dispatch, goods should be refrigerated upon receipt. Products are suitable for home freezing and should be frozen on the day of receipt for up to 6 months; defrost overnight in the fridge as required.
Retention of Title
This remains with Arbroath Fisheries until the goods are paid for in full.
Application of Value Added Tax (VAT)
Fish is not liable for VAT.
Order Confirmations
Upon submitting an order using our automated shopping basket system, with payment made through the secure server of payzone, customer will have the ability to print a receipt from the website at the time of purchase. An email will also be sent to the customer with their order details.
Data Protection
Arbroath Fisheries are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. Arbroath Fisheries will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. Arbroath Fisheries will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future. The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number, email address, credit/debit card details.

Unforeseen Circumstances
While every effort will be made to meet shoppers demands, cancellations or variations may be necessary as a result of Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other causes beyond the control of Arbroath Fisheries.
Complaints
If you have a complaint please contact us immediately by e-mail to administrator@arbroath-smokie.co.uk or by phone 01241 872331. All complaints will be acknowledged within one working day. Any complaint will be dealt with fairly, effectively and confidentially. These complaints will be dealt within seven working days.
Law
Anyone dealing as a trader or in the course of their trade or business agrees to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Scotland.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
